Terms, conditions and policies

Important information for enrolment, attendance, payments, safety, privacy and family participation at Blue Fin.

Terms & Conditions

All families must complete an online enrolment profile and accept these Terms & Conditions before their first lesson. Lessons run weekly for 30 minutes at the same day and time. Full payment is required to secure a booking, and new swimmers may require an assessment for correct level placement.

Swimmers are automatically re-enrolled for the following term. Invoices are issued through the Client Portal and must be paid by the due date to retain the place. If you do not wish to continue, written notice must be given before the due date.

Fees are charged per term and must be paid in full before lessons commence. The preferred payment method is the secure Client Portal using Visa or Mastercard. Direct debits are generally processed around four weeks before the new term and families are notified by email.

By enrolling and proceeding with direct debit, families commit to the full term. Declined payments must be resolved promptly or the swimmer’s position may be forfeited. Prices may change periodically with notice.

Enrolment is for the full term. Regular attendance supports skill development and class consistency. Swimmers arriving more than 10 minutes late may not be permitted to join where this would affect lesson structure or safety.

Absences must be recorded in advance through the Client Portal. A maximum of three make-up lessons per term is permitted. Make-ups are subject to availability, must be booked through the portal, used within the same term and are not guaranteed. A missed make-up is not reissued. Exceptional additional make-ups may be considered with a valid medical certificate.

Once enrolment is confirmed, classes are booked and staffed accordingly. Fees are non-refundable and early withdrawal forfeits remaining lessons. Refunds are considered only for medical reasons with supporting documentation.

Lessons and enrolments are not transferable between swimmers or families.

A parent or guardian must remain on site during lessons. Children should not attend when unwell, including vomiting, diarrhoea, fever or contagious illness. Blue Fin may refuse participation where a swimmer is deemed unfit.

Staff are trained in CPR and First Aid, emergency services will be contacted if required, and water quality is tested regularly.

Children who are not fully toilet trained must wear an approved swim nappy. Participating parents or carers must wear suitable swimwear. Goggles and swim caps are recommended for swimmers other than babies.

Children must be supervised on the premises. Families must treat staff and other swimmers respectfully and follow facility rules. Blue Fin may refuse service in cases of inappropriate, unsafe or disruptive behaviour.

If lessons are cancelled because of contamination, maintenance or other facility issues, families will be notified and a make-up lesson or credit provided.

Blue Fin collects personal information to manage enrolments, deliver lessons and communicate with families. Information is handled in accordance with privacy obligations and is not shared except where required by law, during emergencies or with consent. Blue Fin may refuse service if required information is not provided.

CCTV operates in pool and pool-deck areas to review incidents, support teaching quality and staff development, monitor safety and assist investigations. Cameras are not installed in toilets, showers or change rooms.

No photography or filming is permitted in change rooms. Families must be mindful of other children when recording. Blue Fin uses images for marketing only with prior consent.

Blue Fin is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Unclaimed items may be disposed of or donated after a reasonable period.

All staff hold Working With Children Checks and current CPR and First Aid qualifications. Blue Fin maintains a safe environment and follows child-safety legislation and reporting obligations.

Blue Fin aims for instructor consistency but may adjust teachers, class times or class structure when necessary. Trainee teachers may assist experienced instructors as part of their development without changing lesson quality or structure.

Blue Fin values open communication and encourages families to raise questions or concerns. The team aims to respond promptly.

Blue Fin may update policies at any time and may refuse service where these Terms & Conditions are not followed.
