Terms & Conditions

1.Enrolment

All families must complete an online enrolment profile and accept these Terms & Conditions prior to their first lesson.

Lessons are 30 minutes in duration and run weekly at the same day and time.

Full payment is required to secure your booking. We are unable to hold places without payment.

New swimmers may require an assessment to ensure correct level placement.

2. Re-Enrolment

All swimmers are automatically re-enrolled for the following term.

Invoices are issued via the client portal and must be paid by the due date to retain your place.

If payment is not received, your position may be released to families on the waitlist.

If you do not wish to continue, written notice must be provided prior to the due date.

3. Payments & Direct Debit

Fees are charged per term and must be paid in full prior to the commencement of lessons.

Our preferred method of payment is via Blue Fin’s secure online portal using credit card (Visa or Mastercard).

Direct debit payments are processed each term, approximately four weeks prior to the commencement of lessons. You will be notified of your scheduled debit date via email.

By enrolling and proceeding with direct debit, you are committing to the full term.

Please ensure sufficient funds are available at the time of processing.

If a payment is declined or rejected:

  • You will be notified

  • Payment must be made immediately via the client portal or at reception

Failure to resolve payment promptly may result in forfeiture of your child’s position in the program.

Prices may be adjusted periodically, with notice provided.

4. Attendance & Commitment

Enrolment is for the full term.

Regular attendance is essential for skill development, consistency, and class flow.

Swimmers arriving more than 10 minutes late may not be permitted to join the class, as this disrupts lesson structure and impacts safety.

5. Missed Lessons & Make-Up Policy

To be eligible for a make-up lesson:

  • Absence must be recorded in advance via the client portal

  • A maximum of three (3) make-up lessons per term are permitted

Make-up lessons:

  • Are subject to availability

  • Must be booked via the portal

  • Must be used within the same term

  • Are not guaranteed

If a booked make-up lesson is missed, it will not be reissued.

Additional make-ups may only be considered in exceptional circumstances with a valid medical certificate.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

Once enrolment is confirmed, classes are booked and staffed accordingly.

As such:

  • Fees are non-refundable

  • Early withdrawal results in forfeiture of remaining lessons

Refunds will only be considered for medical reasons, with supporting documentation.

7. Transfers

Lessons and enrolments are non-transferable between swimmers or families.

8. Health & Safety

For safety reasons:

  • A parent or guardian must remain on-site for the duration of the lesson

  • Children should not attend if unwell (including vomiting, diarrhoea, fever, or contagious illness)

  • Blue Fin reserves the right to refuse entry if a swimmer is deemed unfit to participate

In the event of an incident:

  • Staff are trained in CPR and First Aid

  • Emergency services will be contacted if required

Water quality is tested regularly to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

9. Swim Attire

Children who are not fully toilet trained must wear an approved swim nappy.

Parents/guardians participating in the water are required to wear appropriate swimwear.

Goggles and swim caps are recommended for all swimmers (excluding babies).

10. Facility Use & Behaviour

Children must be supervised at all times while on the premises.

Families are expected to treat staff and other swimmers with respect and follow all facility rules.

Blue Fin reserves the right to refuse service in cases of inappropriate, unsafe or disruptive behaviour.

11. Pool Closures

If lessons are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. contamination, maintenance or facility issues), families will be notified and a make-up lesson or credit will be provided.

12. Privacy

Blue Fin Swim School collects personal information to manage enrolments, deliver lessons, and communicate with families.

Information is handled in accordance with privacy obligations and is not shared with third parties except where required by law, in emergencies, or with consent.

If required personal information is not provided, Blue Fin reserves the right to refuse service.

13. CCTV & Surveillance

Blue Fin Swim School operates CCTV systems within the facility. Cameras are located in pool and pool-deck areas only.

CCTV is used to:

  • Capture and review incidents

  • Support teaching quality and staff development

  • Monitor pool conditions and safety

  • Assist with internal and external investigations where required

Cameras are not installed in areas where a reasonable expectation of privacy exists, including toilets, showers, and change rooms.

14. Photography & Media

No photography or filming is permitted in change rooms.

Parents are asked to be mindful of other children when taking photos or videos.

Blue Fin may use images for marketing purposes only with prior consent.

15. Lost Property

Blue Fin is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Unclaimed items may be disposed of or donated after a reasonable period.

16. Child Safety

All staff hold Working With Children Checks, CPR and First Aid qualifications.

Blue Fin is committed to maintaining a safe environment and adheres to child safety legislation and reporting obligations.

17. Teacher & Class Changes

Blue Fin strives to maintain consistency with instructors; however, changes may be required.

Blue Fin reserves the right to adjust class times, teachers, or class structure where necessary.

Trainee teachers may assist experienced instructors as part of their development. This does not impact the quality or structure of the lesson.

18. Feedback & Communication

We value open communication and encourage families to raise any questions or concerns.

We aim to respond to enquiries promptly.

19. General Conditions

Blue Fin Swim School reserves the right to update policies at any time.
