Progress Report Week
Reports will be available on Tuesday 10th of June.
Reports are our way of keeping parents up to date with the progress of their swimmer’s swimming and act in conjunction with our policy of continuous assessment throughout the term. The progress report will act as a brief interim update for parents and their swimmers, it will not be a comprehensive report. We hope that parents and swimmers will have a clearer understanding of the skills that have to be achieved and those which require more work.
Blue Fin's ongoing assessment policy will continue, whereby our teachers who feel a swimmer is ready for, or is nearing promotion to the next level, will call on our Swim School Co-ordinators to discuss the swimmers progress by viewing the skill level and stroke technique. From here we either advance the swimmer to the next level or suggest appropriate drills to achieve our goals for that level.
Over the next week, we’re currently in the process of entering and reviewing them. As we do this, we flag any students who have moved up or down in skill level. Those students are then assessed again by an external team member the following week to ensure accuracy.Swimmer’s report need to be double-checked, swimmers may have had an off day, or different teachers may have a different perspective and we want to do our best to ensure accuracy across all classes.
Please note Maidie our Swim School Director is always happy to assess swimmers and to speak to parents directly, please do not hesitate to reach out to maidie@bluefinswim.com if you’d like to chat.
